In the movie Wayne's World 2 there is a scene in the movie with an old British roadie that tells a story about Keith Richards and at the end of that story he says, "And that is why Keith Richards cannot be killed with conventional weapons." So I was almost sure that falling out of a coconut tree, while on vacation in Fiji would surely be the demise of one of rock's biggest junkies. It was rumoured the he has had a second brain operation and that doctors are saying that he may never play live again. The rumour was denied today by his UK publicist that says he is recovering well from the brain operation. When the rest of the Earthy explodes from nuclear war all that will be left in the rubble is Keith Richards.

I am very fortunate to live so close to the city of Baltimore. Out of the entire country, I happen to live within 4 hours of the four biggest cities. Out of New York, Philadelphia, Washington and Baltimore, I frequent one music store; the Soundgarden. I have never walked into that store without buying something before I leave. The staff is amazingly knowledgable and friendly. Jimmy Macmillan, employee at Soundgarden, recently informed me about closings of different independent and corporate music chains. You can hear that podcast by clicking here. While we sat and talked, Jimmy brought to my attention a a great album from 1973, Lou Reed's "Berlin." The album is different from most of Reed's solo work, and the last track on the album will send chills down the spine. Click here to listen to that podcast.

I am so excited! It was just announced today that Radiohead will be touring this summer. No, they are not playing anywhere in Maryland, but I am willing to take the hike to Philly to go see them. I have only seen Radiohead twice, and they are the absolute greatest band to see live. They are currently working on a new album, which means they will probably be debuting a lot of the new material at the concert. It will sell out super quick so make sure you get your tickets early, I know I will.
